Experience
I graduated magna cum laude from Washington University, with a degree in Philosophy. After undergrad, I began programming computers with a software company focused on finance. I recently tutored students in Hong Kong in SAT and college prep. I've also taught students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in a variety of subjects. I taught English language learners through my church, and I also tutored students with an after-school program. My teaching specialties are literature, writing, and test preparation. I've guided students to do well with graduate level exams, the SAT (verbal, critical reading, math, writing), ACT (Writing, Science, Math, Reading, English), and the GRE (verbal, quantitative), among others. I'm also adept at teaching Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Art, French, Literature, and essay skills (including grammar, editing, and critical writing). Learning needs to be fun for students! I try to allow my love for learning to rub off on my students, and I want them to think of learning as something that exists outside of institutional settings, too. We tend to perform much better on exams and in coursework when we are excited by the material and the learning process. When I'm not in the classroom, I'm a professional pianist. I also love to play tennis, and I write and record music.
