Hobbies

As a linguist, writer, and student of language, I believe the best kind of fuel is curiosity. In my case, it took me to 18 countries across 3 continents in 2 years. It enabled me to research the personal manuscripts of a legendary film director in London, England. It brought me to a machine learning school in Lisbon, Portugal, where I met brilliant engineers interested in giving computers the ability to use language. And best of all, it led me to Hungary for a year where I taught English to the most brilliant students at the smartest high school in the country. I love working one-on-one with students who need a little help. It is easy for students to grow discouraged when they don't understand the subject matter as well as their peers do. My belief is that these students just haven't found the 'right angle' yet to learn in their own way. I challenge my students to discover their own learning process. At the same time, I show them how they can use language to accomplish their objectives. I'm very personable, down-to-earth, and sympathetic to students who need help. Above all, I'm confident I can help your son or daughter improve their skills and retain those skills for future use.
